All your Holiday fun is Downtown!

On Wednesday, November 25, Downtown HolidayFest 2009 kicks off with one of Fort Wayne's most enduring holiday traditions, the HolidayFest Lighting Ceremony.

But lighting up the Santa isn't the only thing that's happening downtown this year. For 2009, the Downtown Improvement District and their partners are turning downtown Fort Wayne into a festive winter wonderland for the entire holiday season.

The Embassy Theatre, the Botanical Conservatory, the Fort Wayne Museum of Art, History Center, Headwaters Park, TinCaps, and Science Central are participating in HolidayFest 2009 with a range of fun-filled holiday activities throughout the season.

It all begins on Wednesday, November 25 at 6:15, with the official downtown lighting ceremony. In addition to the lighting of Santa and his reindeer at the National City Bank on Main Street, you'll also see the Wells Fargo Holiday Lighting display and the lighting of the Indiana Michigan Power Christmas Wreath at One Summit Square

Sponsored by Downtown Improvement District, Fort Wayne Newspapers, Sanco Industries, Inc., A Party Apart, MAJIC 95.1 and the City of Fort Wayne.

The City of Fort Wayne's three downtown parking garages - Civic Center, Harrison Square and the City-County Building's Plaza Garage - will be free Wednesday after 5 p.m. for visitors to the downtown Night of Lights festivities. Check out parkitfortwayne.com for more parking information!
